The challenge

Poor ground conditions across half the footprint, discovered during site investigation, threatened both the slab design and the programme.

What we did

Rather than a full dig-and-replace, we specified vibro stone columns across the affected area and redesigned the slab as a reinforced ground-bearing raft. Cheaper, faster, and it removed 200 lorry movements from local roads.

The result

Operational seven months from breaking ground. The client reports the slab has shown no measurable settlement in three years of full loading.
