How We Work

Five Steps, No Surprises

Most people have never run a building project before, and the not-knowing is the stressful part. Here is exactly what happens, in order, from the first phone call to the day you get your keys back.

Hands holding a phone on a construction site
  1. Talk it through

Tell us what you're planning. A twenty minute call is usually enough for us to say whether we're the right fit, roughly what it will cost, and when we could start. No charge, and no pressure to book anything.

  2. Walk the site

We come to you. We look at access, ground conditions, the existing structure, and the things that never show up on a drawing. This is where most nasty surprises get caught, while they are still free to fix.

  3. Fixed proposal

You get a written scope, a fixed price, and a schedule with real dates on it. Line by line, so you can see what you are paying for. Where something is genuinely uncertain, we say so out loud instead of burying it in a contingency.

  4. Build

One site manager, named in your proposal, from first day to last. They are on site daily and reachable by phone. Every Friday you get photos and a short note: what happened this week, what happens next.

  5. Walkthrough and handover

We walk the finished job with you and write down anything that is not right. We fix all of it before the final invoice, not after. Then you get your warranties, certificates, and as-built drawings together in one folder.

Sixty people kept working through a nine-week fit-out and not one of them lost a day. I still don't entirely know how they managed it.

Operations Director, Northgate Partners

They found problems two other builders had quoted around. It cost more than I first hoped and I'd still choose them again tomorrow — I knew exactly what I was paying for at every stage.

Two contractors walked away from our site before Buildcore looked at it. They came back with a different foundation approach and built the house we'd almost given up on.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about our process, pricing, and timelines.

What areas do you serve?

Riverton and everywhere within about sixty miles. For larger commercial projects we travel further. Ask, and we'll tell you straight whether the travel makes sense against your budget.

How long does a typical build take?

A single-room renovation runs four to eight weeks. A whole-house renovation is four to six months. Ground-up residential is nine to fourteen months. Commercial fit-outs vary most: anywhere from six weeks to a year. Your proposal will carry real dates, not ranges.

How do I get a quote for my project?

Send us the basics through the contact form: what you're building, roughly where, and when you'd like to start. We'll call you within one working day to talk it through. If it looks like a fit we'll book a site visit, and you'll have a written fixed-price proposal within a week of that visit. Quotes are free and carry no obligation.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. We hold a general contractor's licence, $2M public liability cover, and full workers' compensation for everyone on site. Copies come with the proposal — you shouldn't have to ask for them.

Can you work from my own design or plans?

Yes, and we like it when you have them. Architect's drawings, engineer's details, or a folder of screenshots — we've worked from all three. If the plans need changes to be buildable or to pass inspection, you'll hear it before you commit, not halfway through.

Ready to Start Building?

Whether you have blueprints ready or just an idea, we're ready to talk. Reach out and let's plan your next project together.
